Prototype for note #725 · Nina, 11 Oct 2026 · nothing in the product has changed yet — this page is for you to decide.
27 kinds of rows: 24 the chat can show today (counting each restart and failure wording separately), plus 3 new kinds from Ada's PR #1330. Every “Now” picture is the real app drawing that row in a phone-sized browser.
Keep 7Reword 9Merge 7Hide 4
The rule I propose: a row earns its place only if it is news to you or a decision for you. Everything else is the platform talking to itself. After this pass the chat shows only four kinds of things:
The conversation — your messages, the Chief of Staff's replies, your agents' answers.
Decision cards — proposals, emails, and (new) “Remove this agent?”. Each has one door.
One quiet “what I did” line — sent, stopped, handed, archived; tap to see the full message; tagged “on its own” when it acted without you.
“Needs a look” lines with a door — an agent went silent, a message may not have arrived, something was noticed — and one “Not finished · Send again” mark under your message whenever a request did not complete.
The connection-restarted rows go away: when the work resumes you see nothing but “Thinking…”; when it can't resume you see “Not finished · Send again” under your message.

Adam asked for note #718 in Platform. Claim it with 'agentbuilt note start 718' and read it with the picture. The back button on the agents picker must return to the screen you came from. Send me back the PR number and what you checked.
When it shows
Every time the Chief of Staff runs agentbuilt agent message — it hands work to one of your agents.
What it is for
Proof that work was handed out, and to whom. Worth keeping: it is how you see the delegation happen.
Today the first sentence of the MESSAGE becomes a bold heading and the rest goes grey, so a long brief reads as two unrelated lines. Proposed: one quiet line, “Sent to Oscar”; tap to read the whole brief. A message without a final full stop today even gets the heading “Update” (see the “On its own” row below).

Where are you with note #718?
When it shows
agentbuilt agent reset — almost always one step before a “Sent to X”.
What it is for
Housekeeping before a hand-off. It matters to you only as part of that hand-off.
Folded into the “Sent to” line it precedes. On its own (no send after it), it is the same quiet line: “Oscar starts a fresh chat”.

“Stopped X: reason. Its reply is no longer awaited.”

↗Stopped Oscar — note #718 changed after it started
When it shows
agentbuilt agent stop — the Chief of Staff ended one of your agents' running turns.
What it is for
A consequential act on your behalf: you should always see it.
“Its reply is no longer awaited” is bookkeeping; drop it.
4
“Asked the person to remove X: …”

Remove an agent
Remove Oscar?
Its work is finished and you said you no longer need it.
An agent the Chief of Staff was waiting for ended its turn without answering (or stayed silent 10 minutes).
What it is for
Real news: the hand-off fell through. But today it is a dead end — it says the details are elsewhere and gives no way to get there.
Merge with #1330's no-reply event (“Oscar finished without sending back the answer…”): with that PR both land for the same moment. One row, with a door, and — with #1330 on — the Chief of Staff's reaction under it.
9
“Delivery to X could not be confirmed. Open the agent's conversation before sending again.”
Oscar's back-button fix failed its checks on ci/checks. I asked Oscar to look.
When it shows
With “Start by itself” on: checks went red · a proposal (code or knowledge) waited a day · a note stayed unclaimed 2 days · an agent's turn failed · an agent's report went unanswered · an agent went silent · a letter arrived. Shown only when the turn decides you need to hear.
What it is for
Explains why the Chief of Staff is talking when you did not write.
Today (as #1330 draws them) each is a grey card with the raw platform sentence. Proposed: one small “Noticed” line with a door to the thing itself, directly above the reply. The no-reply cause merges with “finished without answering” above.

“On its own: …” receipts

Proposed
↗on its ownHanded note #725 to Oscar
↗on its ownArchived note #718
When it shows
An action the Chief of Staff took under a standing permission you switched on (reset a finished chat, hand an unclaimed note, ask a silent agent, archive a finished note).
What it is for
You must be able to tell what it did without being asked — this is the audit trail for its autonomy.
Same quiet line as “Sent to”, with an “on its own” tag instead of a lower-cased sentence glued after a prefix. Bug in #1330 to fix before merge: “handed note” and “archived note” receipts have no final full stop, so the chat titles them “Update” (see the pictures).
